Is an animal hair allergy hereditary?
Allergies, as well as tendencies to pathological reactions of the immune system have an inheritable component. Already with an affected parent the probability to fall ill with an allergy is nearly 50%. With two parents concerned the probability is even still clearly higher.
Also the nutrition and the behavior of the nut/mother during the pregnancy can take influence on potential allergy emergencies with the child. So already children in the womb can be sensitized for certain allergens and react immediately after the birth already with allergic reactions to the allergens. Also a smoking behavior of parents shows an increase of the allergies with children.
However, a longer nursing period has a positive influence on the child. Hereby many allergies can be prevented. Also the purposeful feeding of certain allergens, can reduce the rates at food allergies.
