Is that dangerous? | Prick an anal thrombosis

Is that dangerous?

The pricking open of an analthrombosis is usually relatively harmless. It is important that the procedure is performed by an experienced surgeon with appropriate precautions and adequate anesthesia. In order to prevent the node from refilling with coagulated blood, a small wound window is left to allow the secretion to drain away.

Apart from the resulting reduced complication of recurrence, there are hardly any other complications to be expected with this procedure. A possible infection can be prevented by the administration of an antibiotic. If there is post-operative bleeding that does not stop on its own, surgical correction must be performed.

Ointments

In the case of an analthrombosis, various ointments can be used. The use of a Voltaren ointment is recommended for pain relief. This contains the active ingredient diclofenac, which is a non-steroidal anti-rheumatic drug.

Furthermore, a lidocaine ointment can be used to reduce the pain. This local anaesthetic inhibits the transmission of pain signals and thus ensures temporary freedom from pain. A heparin ointment can also be used to reduce pain. Here, the anticoagulant effect is used to reduce the venous blood clot of the analthrombosis.

Further treatment options

There are various possibilities for the treatment of an analthrombosis. Furthermore, regulation of the digestion and thus also of the bowel movement is very important for the healing process of an analthrombosis. Therefore, sufficient fluid intake and a diet rich in fiber should always be ensured.

Physical protection is also important for the regeneration of the mucous membrane.

  • A frequently used household remedy is the application of ointments, for example with horse chestnut extract. The active ingredients contained have a locally reducing effect on the swelling, which can also relieve the pain caused by analthrombosis. Before using the ointment, it should always be carefully cleaned.
  • Sitting baths can also help to alleviate the symptoms of an anal thrombosis. They support the regeneration of the damaged mucosa and, depending on the additives added, can locally inhibit the inflammatory processes.
  • Among the homeopathic remedies that can be used are witch hazel and Aloe barbadensis.
