Arthrosis

The term arthrosis refers to a degenerative change in a joint. It is caused by wear and tear, i.e. chronic or prolonged wear and tear of the joint. The main cause is the ablation and damage of the joint cartilage.

The problem with this disease is that the cartilage in the joint is only capable of regeneration, i.e. restoration of the initial position, to a very limited extent. Therefore, arthrosis is a mainly irreversible process of a joint. This means that the treatment of arthrosis should be started as early as possible.

Severe pain over a longer period of time, which increases or worsens under stress, can be an indication of this. In the acute stage, the joint continues to overheat and swell. Often the knees or hips are affected by osteoarthritis.

The symptoms can usually be treated conservatively, also with homeopathic preparations. However, in the long term, this often results in more invasive measures that may become unavoidable to reduce pain. These include surgical methods in which a part of the joint or the entire joint is replaced. This is particularly important if the old joint can no longer fulfil its function.
