Joint mucosa inflammation in the ankle joint

In the ankle joint, synovitis is usually caused by accidents or trauma. Mostly these injuries occur during sports. As with other inflammations of the synovial membrane, pain, swelling and redness of the joint space occur. The affected joint should be elevated and cooled, if necessary pain-relieving or anti-inflammatory medication can be taken.
