4. Kneipp therapy: versatile applicable.

Kneipp therapy consists of cold or hot pours over certain parts of the body. Depending on the body region and water temperature, a pour can have completely different effects.

Kneipp therapy should take place in a warm room if possible. The water pours come from a hose or watering can and are directed specifically at one part of the body. A cold pour over the arms has a stimulating effect, cool water over the knees and thighs combats varicose veins and helps against sleep disorders. Hot pours on the neck, on the other hand, loosen tension.

In general, about an hour of rest should be observed after Kneipp applications, during which the cooled body slowly warms up again.

A bath in cold water can also have a calming effect. However, while you can enjoy a warm full bath for up to 20 minutes, you should not spend more than one minute in cold water. In the overheating bath, on the other hand, people who want to boost their immune system and speed up their metabolism sweat. Here, the temperature can reach 43 degrees Celsius, artificially raising the body to a fever.

However, such extreme therapies should only be carried out under a doctor’s instructions and supervision, as the circulation can quickly become overloaded here.
