Laryngitis (Larynx Inflammation): Prevention

To prevent laryngitis (laryngitis), attention must be paid to reducing individual risk factors.

Behavioral risk factors

  • Diet
    • Malnutrition and undernutrition – weakens the immune system.
    • Micronutrient deficiency (vital substances) – see prevention with micronutrients.
  • Consumption of stimulants
    • Alcohol
    • Coffee
    • Tobacco (smoking)
  • Psycho-social situation
  • Permanent overuse of the voice, for example, singers.
  • Constant mouth breathing – leads to drying of the mucous membranes of the larynx and thus to an increase in risk.

Environmental pollution – intoxications (poisonings).

  • Exogenous noxae (poisons) – air pollutants, dry air, dust pollution, chemicals.
