Nutritional medicine
Nutritional counseling based on nutritional analysis
Nutritional recommendations according to a mixed diet taking into account the disease at hand. This means, among other things:
Plant-based, Mediterranean diet combined with drinking alkaline water; may relieve the symptoms of laryngitis gastrica (nonbacterial, inflammatory reaction of the mucosa in the larynx and surrounding pharynx caused by a reflux (Latin refluxus “backflow”) of gastric secretions) at least as well as by treatment with a proton pump inhibitor (PPI; acid blocker).
A total of 5 servings of fresh vegetables and fruit daily (≥ 400 g; 3 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit)
Once or twice a week fresh sea fish, i.e. fatty marine fish (omega-3 fatty acids) such as salmon, herring, mackerel.
Speech therapy (identification and treatment of existing speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders): When chronic laryngitis (inflammation of the larynx) is secondary (subsequent) to improper vocal technique, speech therapy may be indicated, but only after the cause of the inflammation has been identified and corrected.
