Fields of application

  • Lycopodium is mainly used in alternative medicine in homeopathic potency because of the possible adverse effects. Formerly used as a diuretic.
  • The spores are used to make fireworks (flash powder) and fire breathing. When they are swirled into the air, they easily ignite a fire source.

Adverse effects

Severe diarrhea, vomiting, irritation of mucous membranes.
