Infectious and parasitic diseases (A00-B99).
- Amoebic dysentery – infectious disease occurring in the (sub)tropics; causative agents are protozoans belonging to the species Entamoeba histolytica and Entamoeba dispar; symptom: mushy, mucopurulent, bloody stools (raspberry jelly-like stools).
- Bartonellosis (cat disease) – infectious disease occurring mainly in South America, caused by representatives of the genus Bartonella and often lethal (fatal).
- Brucellosis – generic term for diseases such as Bang’s disease or Malta fever, which is caused by the genus Brucella.
- Dengue fever – infectious disease that occurs in the (sub)tropics and is transmitted by mosquitoes (arbovirosis).

- Kala-azar (synonyms: visceral leishmaniasis; also known as dum-dum fever or black fever) – infectious disease caused by Leishmania donovani, which in the late stages can lead mainly to heart damage and cachexia (severe emaciation); distribution area; tropics, especially Colombia, Peru, and eastern Africa, but also Asia and the Mediterranean region.
- Rickettsioses – infectious diseases caused by rickettsiae.
- Typhoid abdominalis – infectious disease transmitted by salmonellae.
