  • Scrotal sonography (ultrasound examination of testis and epididymis as well as the supplying vessels etc. to assess or exclude: Testicular size, varicocele (varicose vein hernia)?, intratesticular space requirement / tumor exclusion?)

Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnostics and obligatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Additional ejaculate examination including microbiological examinations.
  • Examination of postmasturbatory urine – if retrograde ejaculation (ejaculatory disorder in which seminal fluid is expelled backwards into the urinary bladder) is suspected.
  • Transrectal prostate sonography (ultrasound examination of the prostate through the rectum).
  • Electrical impedance analysis (measurement of body compartments/body composition) – for determination of body fat, extracellular body mass (blood and tissue fluid), body cell mass (muscle and organ mass) and total body water incl. body mass index (BMI, body mass index) and waist-to-hip ratio (THV); e.g. as part of a nutritional consultation.
