Meningiomas: Medical History

The medical history (history of the patient) represents an important component in the diagnosis of meningiomas.

Family history

  • What is the general health of your family members?
  • Are there any diseases in your family that are common?

Social history

  • What is your profession?
  • Are you exposed to harmful working substances in your profession?

Current medical history/systemic medical history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • What symptoms have you noticed?
  • Have you been feeling tired a lot lately?
  • Have you been suffering from headaches lately? Or are the headaches unusual lately?*
  • Have you been feeling increasingly nauseous? Have you had to vomit?
  • Have you suffered any seizure(s)* ?
  • Have you noticed any paralysis, sensory disturbances, visual disturbances, or similar symptoms?*
  • Has your sense of smell changed?
  • Have there been any disturbances in your consciousness?*
  • Have you/your relatives noticed any change in nature/behavior?* .

Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis.

  • Has your appetite changed? (loss of appetite)

Self history including medication history.
