Moxidectin is commercially available as a mono- and combination preparation as a solution, injection solution, oral gel, and spot-on preparation for animals. It has been approved in many countries since 1999. In 2018, a drug was approved in the U.S. for the treatment of onchocerciasis (river blindness).

Effects
Moxidectin (ATCvet QP54AB02) is antiparasitic with a broad spectrum of activity against numerous endo- and ectoparasites.
Indications
As a mono- or combination preparation for the treatment of infestations of worms, lice, hair lice, mites (including Sarcoptes mange), flies, fleas in sheep, cattle, horses, cats and dogs. Human medicine: onchocerciasis (river blindness).
