Mullein: Dosage

Woolly mullein is present in crushed form in a few tea blends, including filter sachets. In addition, various combination preparations in the form of cough syrups, cough syrups, ointments and oils contain extracts of mullein.

Dosage of mullein

The average daily dose is 3-4 g of the drug, unless otherwise prescribed.

Mullein: preparation as a tea

To prepare a tea from mullein, 1.5-2 g of the finely chopped flowers (1 teaspoon is about 0.5 g) is poured over boiling water and strained after 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, the drug can be prepared with cold water and then heated to boiling.

One cup of the tea should be drunk twice a day.

What should be taken into account when using it?

Currently, there are no known side effects or interactions with other remedies or contraindications to taking mullein flowers.

Due to the pleasant sweet taste and mild effect of mullein flowers, they are particularly popular in pediatrics.

Storage tips

Wool flowers should be stored in a dry place and protected from light. If stored incorrectly, the flowers will turn brown to dark brown or become moldy. They should then no longer be used.
