Multiple Joints Pain (Polyarthropathy): Symptoms, Complaints, Signs

The following symptoms and complaints may occur together with Polyarthropathy with pain:

Leading symptoms

  • Pain in two or more joints (symmetric or asymmetric joint involvement?; acute or chronic course?)

Associated symptoms

  • Joint swelling
  • Redness
  • Temperature rise
  • Movement restriction
  • Extra-articular manifestation?

Note: In infancy, symptoms such as problems in the morning when getting up, when climbing stairs, swollen joints and “moving out of round” think of early childhood oligoarthritis. Other early symptoms may include fatigue, tearfulness, and a drop in performance. Early childhood oligoarthritis is most common in little girls at the mean age of onset, 2 years. It is the most common form of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA).
