Neuroblastoma: Medical History

The medical history (history of the patient) represents an important component in the diagnosis of neuroblastoma.

Family history

  • Is there a frequent history of cancer in your family?

Social history

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • What symptoms have you noticed?
  • How long have these changes existed?
  • Does your child feel tired, weak?
  • Is it pale?
  • Is there a loss of appetite?
  • Does your child suffer from abdominal pain?
  • Is there shortness of breath?
  • Are bowel movements regular and normal?
  • Has there been a moderate fever for some time?
  • Have you noticed any lymph node enlargements?
  • Have you noticed any changes in the eye area (pupil constriction, drooping upper eyelid, seemingly sunken eyeball)?

Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis.

  • Is your child with appetite?
  • Are bowel movements regular and normal?
  • Is your child’s body weight increasing normally?

Self history including medication history.

  • Pre-existing conditions (neoplasms)
  • Operations
  • Allergies
  • Medication history
