2nd order laboratory parameters – depending on the results of the history, physical examination and obligatory laboratory parameters – for differential diagnostic clarification.
- Small blood count
- Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein).
- Virus detection in stool/vomiting (noroviruses I/II) – RT-PCT (reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction), antigen EIA, electron microscopic detection.
- Renal parameters – urea, creatinine, cystatin C if necessary.
Direct detection of Norwalk-like virus from stool must be reported by name (Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in Humans).
