Nosebleeds in babies due to crying

Even if the baby cries, nosebleeds can occur. Again, you should not be alarmed, but rather try to calm the baby. The crying and the excitement cause an activation of the sympathetic nervous system (vegetative nervous system).

The sympathetic nervous system is responsible, for example, for raising blood pressure. The vessels become wider and more blood is pumped through the body and into the head. As a result, more blood is also transported through the dilated veins in the nasal mucosa.

The fine veins in the nasal mucosa can now burst even more easily, especially if the child accidentally hits his or her nose or sticks a finger up the nose. Nosebleeds occur. In this case, the above-mentioned measures should again be followed and the child should be calmed as much as possible.
