Oat herb can be used in the form of tea or various other forms of preparation. In commerce, green oat tea exists, for example, in a mixture of nettle herb, raspberry leaves and lady’s mantle herb.
In the field of herbal medicines, oat preparations are offered as traditional medicines, for example, in the form of juices. Oat straw is most often used in the form of bath additives.
The right dose of oats
It is not possible to recommend an average daily dose for oat herb and fruit. For the application of oat straw, about 100 g of oat straw is added to a full bath.
Oat herb: preparation of tea
To prepare a tea from oat herb, a heaping tablespoon (equivalent to about 3 g of the drug) is poured over 250 ml of boiling water. After cooling to room temperature, the tea can be passed through a tea strainer.
The oat tea can then be drunk weakly sweetened or unsweetened several times a day or just before bedtime.
