Obesimed

Products

Obesimed is available in many countries as a medical device in the form of capsules. It is not registered as a drug.

Ingredients

The capsules contain Omtec 19, vegetable fibers. We have no information on the exact composition of Omtec 19.

Effects

The contained vegetable fibers (polysaccharides) bind large amounts of water and thus have a satiating effect. We cannot make any statement on the actual clinical efficacy, as we do not have any scientific studies from the specialist literature.

Indications for use

For the prevention and supportive treatment of obesity.

Dosage

According to the package leaflet. For adults and children 10 years and older. 1 hour before each meal, take 2 capsules together with two large glasses of water (about 500 ml). The capsules should not be opened.

Contraindications

Omtec 19 is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity. Full precautions can be found in the patient information leaflet.

Interactions

Because Obesimed may lower blood glucose levels, it should not be taken with other products that have a blood glucose-lowering effect. Other medicines should generally be taken 1 hour before or 4 hours after Obesimed.

Adverse effects

Possible adverse effects include digestive symptoms such as diarrhea, belching, and flatulence.
