OP procedure | Surgery for strabismus

OP procedure

Even in the case of outpatient surgery, the patient remains under observation for some time after the procedure until he or she feels fit to go home. On the day of the surgery, the patient should not drive a car and should not use public transport alone. An escort should therefore be arranged in advance. Drops and ointments that are prescribed for the time after the operation should be used conscientiously and according to the instructions.

Aftercare

The doctor in charge informs the patient on the day of the operation when the check-up is scheduled. This should be kept as a matter of urgency to check whether the operation has healed as planned and whether sufficient correction of the eye muscle differences has been achieved. Should fever or severe pain occur, contact the ophthalmologist immediately.
