Osteopathy | Exercises for tendinitis

Osteopathy

Osteopathy consists of purely manual techniques that can be used for diagnosis and therapy. Osteopathic measures may only be applied independently by physicians, alternative practitioners or physiotherapists (with the additional training of the alternative practitioner). Osteopathic techniques are intended to identify and positively influence tissue disorders.

Restrictions in movement can be reduced, blood circulation can be stimulated and blockages can be removed. The advantage of osteopathy are its gentle grips. Especially tendosynovitis is an irritation and overloading of the muscle tendons. In the acute stage or other cases, exercises or massages can be too much and aggravate the symptoms. Therefore, osteopathic grips are quite suitable for the beginning and support of exercises in case of a tendosynovitis.

Summary

Muscles are attached to bone by tendons. These tendons are sheathed by sheaths. They consist of connective tissue and a synovial layer.

This layer contains fluid, which keeps the tendon sheaths supple and allows the sheath and the muscle layer to slide over each other. Chronic overloading and incorrect posture can lead to inflammation of the tendon sheaths. In this case one speaks of an inflammation of the tendon sheaths.

By an incorrect load of the musculature and its sinewy structures, it can come to a tendon sheath inflammation. This should be counteracted by movement and stretching.Osteopathic measures can support exercises and respond to the sinewy stimulation in a more specific way.
