Treatment of heart stumbles after meals

The treatment of heart stumbles after eating depends on the cause. If a Roemheld syndrome is assumed to be the cause, a change in diet is the key to success. Opulent meals should be avoided. It is better to take several small meals spread out over the day.

You should also avoid foods that cause flatulence. It can be useful to test beforehand under which foods the complaints occur particularly. Flatulent foods include cabbage such as brussels sprouts, white cabbage, savoy cabbage or cauliflower, pulses such as peas, beans or lentils, unripe fruit, dairy products such as whole milk and various types of cheese (camembert, mountain cheese, gorgonzola and very fatty cheeses), onions and wholemeal products such as certain types of bread (especially fresh bread) and muesli.

Even very fatty foods stimulate gas production in the intestine and can lead to an inflated stomach. If there are food intolerances, such as lactose or fructose intolerance, the corresponding foods should be avoided. Carbonated beverages should be avoided and alcohol should only be consumed in small amounts.

In addition, sufficient physical activity should be ensured. If you are overweight, this should be reduced if possible. You can also take advantage of the flatulence of various teas, such as caraway, aniseed and fennel tea.

Furthermore, there are various over-the-counter drugs available in pharmacies that contain the active ingredient dimethicone. Dimeticon also reduces the accumulation of air in the gastrointestinal tract and has an anti-inflating effect. Exemplary here are Sab Simplex® or Espumisan® as preparations to call.
