Paget’s Disease: Medical History

Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of Paget’s disease.

Social anamnesis

Current medical history/systemic medical history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Are you experiencing pain? If yes, when does the pain occur?
  • Where is the pain localized?
    • Back pain?
    • Headache?
    • Joint pain?
  • How long has this pain been present?
  • Does the affected region feel warm?
  • Have you noticed any changes in the appearance of the affected region? Does the hat still fit?
  • Do you suffer from neurological symptoms such as paralysis* , sensory disturbances* , visual/hearing disturbances?
  • Have you noticed any gait disturbance?* .
  • Have you experienced any dental damage/dental loss?
  • Do you notice that your breathing is obstructed (as a sign of respiratory obstruction)* ?
