Pain with a tattoo on different parts of the body

A tattoo causes varying degrees of pain in different parts of the body during the pricking process. On the one hand the individual pain tolerance plays a big role, because pain is a very subjective feeling. On the other hand, the painfulness also depends on the condition of the skin and fatty tissue on the tattooed person.

Especially on the foot, you have to be aware that the pain is particularly strong. In general, it can be assumed that a tattoo on the foot is more painful than tattoos on most other parts of the body. The reason for this is the fact that there are many sensitive nerve endings on the foot, which are irritated when a tattoo is pierced.

In addition, the stronger pain is favored by the lack of padding between skin and bone. People who decide to get a tattoo on the foot should also note that it is precisely in this area that heavy bleeding can occur. In this way, there is a risk that part of the freshly applied color into the skin surface is displaced with the bleeding.

In addition to the noticeable strong pain, which occurs with a tattoo on the foot, it can also come during the stinging to an irritation of various reflex points. This has the consequence that the affected persons have involuntary twitches, which hinder the tattoo artist in his work. Immediately after the stinging of the tattoo, there may be severe swelling due to the enormous tissue irritation.

People who decide to get a tattoo on the foot is therefore recommended that they take one or two days off after the appointment. Within this period of time the swellings can be reduced. Especially wearing shoes and standing permanently while working can otherwise cause severe pain.

After the prick it takes about two weeks until the tattoo on the foot is completely healed. During this period the skin surface should be kept clean and protected from any irritation. To prevent wounds, swelling and pain, it is recommended to walk barefoot or wear loose shoes or flip-flops.

Socks or tight shoes rubbing against the tattoo can significantly slow down the healing process and promote the development of inflammatory processes on the foot. In addition, with a tattoo on the foot it should be noted that especially light colors in this area fade very quickly. For this reason the choice of darker, stronger colors is always more favorable for a tattoo on the foot. However, these colors should cause particularly strong pain when stung.
