Penaten® cream for burns
Penaten® cream is normally not suitable for the treatment of burns and scalds. Only superficial burns (grade 1), which cause severe reddening of the skin, can be treated with Penaten® Creme as a supplement. Especially the panthenol contained in Penaten® Cream promotes the reconstruction of the epidermis by stimulating cell renewal.
Basically, the wound should be cooled extensively in case of burns. When using ointments and creams for acute burns, there is a risk that the wound will be additionally irritated and healing will be delayed. In the case of deep or extensive wounds, a doctor should always be consulted immediately to clarify the further procedure for treating the burn.
