Introduction
Penaten® Creme is a skin and wound protection cream. It was already developed over 100 years ago for the particularly sensitive baby skin and can also be used for adults. By the formation of a long-lasting protective barrier as well as a supporting effect with the Wundheilung it finds application with many different illnesses and irritations of the skin. Depending on the skin type (normal skin, sensitive skin, dry skin) different products of Penaten® Creme are available. The care of the skin can be additionally supported by bath additives, washing and shower creams as well as care oils.
Indications for Penaten® Cream
Penaten® Cream was originally developed as a skin and wound protection cream for sensitive baby skin. Due to the particularly good compatibility it can be used however also with skin diseases and/or – injuries of adults. It calms irritated skin, reduces redness and slight swelling and at the same time forms a long-lasting protective barrier.
In addition, it contains ingredients that cause water retention in the skin, especially in people with dry skin types. It is frequently used for the prevention and treatment of diaper dermatitis in sore baby’s bottom. In addition, it can be used for superficial irritations and injuries of the skin.
Among other things, it leads to healing of pimples and pimple marks. In addition, Penaten® cream helps wounds to heal in the case of minor injuries in the anal region (for example, due to enlarged hemorrhoids or a small anal fissure). The cream is often combined with other ointments and medications (including local anesthetics and cortisone).
Ingredients
For the maintaining and wound-healing effect of Penaten® cream above all three active substances are responsible: Zinc oxide, natural wool fat (Lanolin), Panthenol. In addition, depending on the product, there are numerous other ingredients such as aloe vera, calendula, various emulsifiers and colorants, chamomile, preservatives, oils (vegetable/mineral oils) and shea butter. Due to the potential danger of developing allergies, numerous fragrances and parabens (preservatives) have been removed from the products in the last decades.
