Structure and properties
Phenoxyethanol (C8H10O2, Mr = 138.2 g/mol) exists as a colorless, weakly viscous liquid with a slightly aromatic odor of roses and is sparingly soluble in water. It is an aromatic ether and a primary alcohol.
Effects
Phenoxyethanol has antimicrobial properties.
