Phytodolor®

A medicine against rheumatic and movement pain, joint pain, back pain. Stomach-compatible pain reliever for degenerative and inflammatory rheumatic joint complaints. The ingredients contained in Phytodolor® tincture have in their combination anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.

The ingredients are goldenrod, ash and aspen. Contained are alcoholic fresh plant extracts: Ash bark extract, trembling poplar bark and leaf extract, true goldenrod extract. Phytodolor® is a well-tolerated medicinal product on a herbal basis.

The ingredients have proven their worth as active ingredients of medicinal products for many decades and complement each other in their effect. They can improve pain at rest and during movement, and alleviate functional disorders, swelling and morning stiffness. Rheumatic diseases are often chronic and require a longer lasting treatment. Therefore a medicine should not only have a good effect, but it must also be well tolerated. In the following, the medicinal plants contained are described in more detail.

Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea)

Solidago is derived from the Latin word for “healthy” and refers to the long tradition of goldenrod. It is also known as golden woundwort, pagan or woundwort. The goldenrod is a perennial that can grow up to 1 meter high.

The stem is round, striped, and the leaves are fissured and alternately arranged. The flowers are yellow, stand in clusters or in panicles, and have a faint aromatic smell. Goldenrod flowers bright yellow from August to October.

In Europe widespread on dry meadows, light forests and sunny hills. For the medicinal production of Phytodolor® the herb (without roots), preferably the flowering parts, is used. The harvest is done at the time of full flowering and in good weather.

In bundles, the drug is gently dried in a draft. The plant should not lose its original smell and yellow color. Therefore, the temperature in drying plants should not exceed 40 degrees.

Another species is the Canadian goldenrod, it also has healing properties, but is not collected. Goldenrod contains essential oil, tannins, bitter substances, saponins and flavonoids. Goldenrod is used in medicine to stimulate kidney activity in cases of bladder and kidney inflammation, rheumatism and gout.

The drug can have a supportive effect on skin and liver diseases. It is often a component of so-called “blood cleaning teas”. From gold rod herb also a tea can be manufactured: 1 to 2 heaped up teaspoons gold rod herb with 1⁄4 l cold water pour over, to boiling heat up, 2 minutes pull leave, strain off. Drinking 3 cups daily throughout the day supports the medicinal therapy.
