Polyarthrosis: Symptoms, Complaints, Signs

The following symptoms and complaints may indicate polyarthrosis:

  • A feeling of tension in the joints
  • Joint swelling
  • Joint stiffness
  • Initial pain (start-up and run-in pain common in osteoarthritis of the knee joint) [typical of osteoarthritis is: no discomfort at rest].
  • Load pain
  • Continuous pain (constant and night pain common in osteoarthritis of the knee).
  • Muscle tension due to gentle posture
  • Crepitation in the joint (joint noises)
  • Increased sensitivity of the joints to cold
  • Effusion formation (with inflammatory activation)
  • In the late stage deformations, muscle shortening and resulting functional impairments, movement restrictions.
