Post-coital bleeding | You can recognize a Chlamydia infection in men by these symptoms

Post-coital bleeding

Bleeding after sexual intercourse is not a classic symptom of chlamydial infection in men. Bleeding as part of an infection can occur in women as a result of inflammation of the uterine lining by Chlamydia.

Odour formation

Chlamydia infection can cause discharge from the penis as described above. This discharge can also smell unpleasant. Typically, this is a symptom in women, as there is an increased discharge.

How long is the incubation period?

The incubation period, i.e. the time between infection and the appearance of symptoms, is one to three weeks for Chlamydia trachomatis. For the other chlamydial pathogens, the incubation period is one to four weeks.

Can a man have Chlamydia without symptoms?

Many men get Chlamydia and do not develop any symptoms. This is also called an asymptomatic infection. Due to the absence of symptoms and thus the lack of therapy, chlamydia can spread.

Can one only get symptoms after years?

The incubation period of Chlamydia is about one to four weeks. After this time, symptoms appear or, in the case of an asymptomatic infection, do not appear. The appearance of symptoms years after infection is not possible.
