Pathogenesis (development of disease)
The exact cause of ejaculatio praecox is not known. It is thought to be a disorder primarily in the neurotransmitter system (system of messenger substances). Serotonin probably plays the leading role, as it has been shown in experiments that increased serotonin levels in the brain raise the ejaculation threshold.
