Prick an anal thrombosis

An anal thrombosis, also known as anal venous thrombosis, is a blood clot in the anal region that consists of venous blood. It presents as a dark red lump and often causes pain of very intense intensity. This pain is intensified by the tension of the skin in the area of the clot.

Therefore, piercing an anal thrombosis can lead to a significant relief of the mucous membrane and thus to a significant reduction in pain. The pricking should only be performed by a physician and should not be performed independently. Some risks and side effects must still be considered.

Is there a cure for this?

Depending on the type and size of the existing lesion, piercing an anal thrombosis can lead to partial healing. It is important that the incision is made in such a way that the nodule cannot fill with coagulated blood again. For this reason, an adequate technique must be used when piercing the analthrombosis. The treatment should always be carried out by a physician only. In the case of complicated analthrombosis or difficult wound healing, a recurrence, i.e. the recurrence of analthrombosis, may occur after the puncture.

The analthrombosis is filled again after the puncture

After a piercing of an analthrombosis, it can fill up again in difficult conditions and under certain circumstances. The reason for this is that with small incisions, the mucosa can quickly close again. To prevent this, a technique is used in which a small wound window is left in the area of the node. This allows remaining blood and wound secretion to drain off and not to re-accumulate. Care should also be taken to clear the entire clot during treatment to prevent the blood from reaccumulating with a relapse.

Piercing with the needle

An anal thrombosis can be treated in several ways. One possibility is to puncture the thrombosis. This should always be done under sterile conditions by an experienced specialist in proctology.

During this procedure, however, not a single stitch is made into the thrombosis, but a small incision. In order to prevent the anal thrombosis from refilling, a small wound window is also made. These procedures cannot be performed with a needle. Instead, a small special scalpel is used. Since the treatment is performed under anesthesia, this procedure is largely painless.
