Problems in the partnership
Asperger patients feel very comfortable in a regulated everyday life. Therefore it is of great importance not to tear the affected person out of his everyday life. In a partnership it is therefore important that the affected person is supported by his partner in his lifestyle.
Furthermore, especially during puberty and the discovery of sexuality, Asperger’s patients tend to live out their sexual preferences according to their wishes, without regard to their partner. In the absence of empathy this can lead to conflicts. In stable patients with appropriate behaviour therapy, Asperger’s patients can lead a normal life.
