Prognosis | Ankle pain

Prognosis

While arthritis and arthrosis are chronic conditions that can currently only be treated symptomatically and not causally, sports injuries are relatively uncomplicated injuries. As a rule, several weeks of rest are sufficient to restore full resilience and stability. However, jogging should definitely be paused for some time, as otherwise the complaints can become chronic. Rheumatism and arthritis can be treated largely painlessly with appropriate drug therapy.

Prophylaxis

Ankle pain can be prevented by not training “beyond the pain” and by taking the body’s signals seriously. Appropriate footwear is just as helpful as proper warming up, stretching of the ligaments, and a sensible jogging route. If a corresponding injury is already present, stabilizing bandages can also be used, which firmly compress muscles and ligaments and have a massaging effect during movement.

These are available at relatively low prices in specialist shops. Care should be taken to ensure that they are firmly seated and do not slip, otherwise the stabilizing effect is not achieved.
