Prognosis for neurodermatitis of the fingers

The prognosis for neurodermatitis of the fingers is relatively good – just like for neurodermatitis in other localizations. If neurodermatitis occurs for the first time in childhood, there is usually a significant decrease in skin symptoms by school age. In adulthood, the complaints are usually only of minor nature. People who have suffered from neurodermatitis once, however, have sensitive, dry skin throughout their lives, which needs to be carefully cared for regularly.
