Prognosis – how long on sick leave, how long incapacitated
How long the patient is on sick leave after the replacement of the knee joint with an endoprosthesis depends on the type of employment and the stress at the workplace. In the case of a sedentary activity, for example in the office, work can be resumed after about 2 months. If the work is done mainly standing or walking, the sick leave can also last for 3 months or more. Usually the work is restarted hourly, for example 2 hours a day at first, if this went without problems, 4 hours a day until the patient can be employed full-time again.
