Prognosis of a neck abscess
After surgical removal of the neck abscess, abscess formation at this site is usually no longer present.If abscesses occur at regular intervals in other places, the cause should be sought precisely. In this case, prophylactic antibiotic treatment over several weeks should be considered in order to reduce the corresponding bacterial load.
