Prophylaxis | Abscess of the ear

Prophylaxis

Basically, abscesses can develop anywhere on the body. On the ear, for example, they can be caused by too little or excessive hygiene measures. The ear should not be cleaned with cotton swabs, but always rinsed gently with water.

After showering or swimming, the ear can be blow-dried dry to prevent infections and abscesses. Furthermore, abscesses are more common in immunocompromised people. For this reason it is recommended to reduce the susceptibility to infections in general.

For example, diabetics should ensure that their blood sugar level is kept at a permanently good level. In general, excessive nicotine and alcohol consumption should be avoided.
