In order to avoid possible complications during the anaesthesia, it is very important that the patient informs the doctor of all his concerns during the preparation or clarification discussion. In addition, the patient should inform the doctor about all his medication and his previous illnesses or previous operations. Allergies should also be mentioned and also whether there have been cases of malignant hyperthermia in the family. The doctor asks all these questions and the patient just has to remember to answer all of them correctly and if the patient is unsure, for example about which medication he is taking, he should tell the doctor, as he can then ask the family doctor about the current medication.
