The prostate gland, also known as the prostate gland, is an organ found only in men.

It is a gland located below the urinary bladder and belongs to the male sex organs. It produces a secretion (fluid) which is added to the semen and has a movement triggering effect on the sperm.
Every year, more than 40,000 men develop prostate cancer (prostate cancer), and more than 11,000 a year die as a result of the disease. Prostate cancer screening consists of diagnostic measures that are simple, painless examinations. They are used for early detection of cancer of the prostate with the aim of detecting and curing the cancer at a curable stage.

The following measures are used for early detection of prostate cancer:
Rectal palpation of the prostate – that is, palpation of the prostate by manual examination of the same through the rectum.

The PSA determination – for this purpose a blood sample is taken and examined. In the blood, the so-called PSA – prostate specific antigen – is determined, which can indicate cancer.

Furthermore, ultrasound examination of the prostate – rectal prostate sonography – has been performed for years as a further diagnostic measure as part of prostate cancer screening.

Regular prostate cancer screening serves to preserve your health and vitality, because prostate cancer detected in time can be cured.
