Pumpkin: Applications and Uses

In men, the prostate (prostate gland) lies close to the urethra. Since a benign enlargement usually starts from the inner part of the organ, this can lead to a narrowing of the urethra. Problems arising from this, such as discomfort during urination, voiding disorders of the bladder and irritable bladder, can be effectively treated with pumpkin seeds.

However, the seeds should be taken only for symptoms caused by stage I and II prostatic hyperplasia.

Pumpkin seeds: Use in folk medicine and homeopathy

Traditionally, people take pumpkin seeds to strengthen and invigorate bladder function. In folk medicine, pumpkin seeds have been used since the Middle Ages to treat kidney and bladder problems and irritable bladder. Pumpkin is also used as a vermifuge, especially for tapeworms and flushing worms, and for faster wound healing.

In homeopathy, pumpkin seeds are used, among other things, for vomiting.
