2nd order laboratory parameters – depending on the results of the history, physical examination and obligatory laboratory parameters – for differential diagnostic clarification.
- Antibody detection (CFT, IFT, ELISA) – anti-phase II antibodies in acute infection; anti-phase II antibodies in chronic infection.
- Pathogen detection by cell culture, PCR (special laboratory).
- Small blood count
- Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein) or PCT (procalcitonin).
- Liver parameters – alanine aminotransferase (ALT, GPT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST, GOT), glutamate dehydrogenase (GLDH) and gamma-glutamyl transferase (gamma-GT, GGT), alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin.
- Coagulation parameters – PTT, Quick
The (in-)direct pathogen detection is reportable according to the Infection Protection Act (IfSG), if this indicates an acute infection.
