Relieve tensions through osteopathy | What is the best way to release neck tensions?

Relieve tensions through osteopathy

Osteopathy as an independent medical science follows the principle that faulty regulation, for example in the form of neck tension, can be compensated by the body itself. With the help of various mobilization exercises by an osteopath, neck tensions can be relieved very easily. These exercises are all performed manually, i.e. with the hands of the osteopath.

Therefore osteopathy is also called manual medicine. However, at the beginning there is always an assessment of the overall picture. In the case of neck tension, osteopaths analyze whether there is a malposition in both standing and sitting. A detailed anamnesis interview is also part of the osteopathy.

Afterwards, painful tension is detected by palpation of the neck and shoulder area. This can then be very easily resolved by means of certain procedures. Osteopathy is being used more and more often for the treatment of neck pain and is considered a good alternative to any other therapeutic measures. However, whether or not the costs of treatment by an osteopath are covered may vary depending on the health insurance company or the severity of the neck tension. Those affected should therefore inquire in advance with their health insurance company about possible coverage of costs.

Release tensions through Yoga

Neck tensions can be easily released through yoga. A variety of yoga exercises allow tense muscles to be stretched and loosened so that the discomfort of neck tension is effectively relieved. Another positive effect is the fact that the regular performance of yoga exercises trains the affected neck muscles, thus preventing the development of neck tension.

Yoga can be done as part of private classes or gym programs, but also easily at home. Most of these exercises against neck tension can also be done as a short session of a few minutes during the lunch break directly at the workplace, as most of the exercises can be done sitting down. When doing the exercises, the patient should relax, let go of all stress and bring their own breathing in line with the movements. Frequently, a relaxation of the tense neck muscles can already be felt after such a short exercise session. In general, however, yoga should be done regularly to achieve a long-term improvement in the symptoms of neck tension.
