Rescue Spitz®

IntroductionWhat is this?

Retterspitz® is often mistaken for a plant or a remedy. However, the name Retterspitz® now refers to a family business that sells medical, over-the-counter products or “remedies”. It is therefore a proper name, which goes back to Mrs. Margarete Retterspitz.

Margarete Retterspitz lived from 1851 to 1905 and ran a Retterspitz® spa in Switzerland before her death. She received a healing fluid at a young age, from a doctor whose name is no longer known today. She continued to produce this healing liquid after his death and marketed her product under the name “Universal-Heilwickel-Bäder von Margarete Retterspitz” together with her husband.

In 1901 the name was declared a trademark. In the following years, the family business Retterspitz® in Nuremberg came into being through the takeover of a pharmacist named Hans Scheck, who acquired the recipe for the healing water of Margarete Retterspitz. This company still exists today.

Today the company Retterspitz® distributes the formula “Retterspitz® Inner Inner”, “Retterspitz® Outer” as well as other products. Retterspitz® is a type of “healing water” which contains thymol, alum, orange oil, lemon oil and tartaric acid, among others. The Retterspitz® method is a natural healing method.

There are different areas of application for the two healing solutions “Retterspitz® Internal and External”. “Retterspitz® Innerlich” is taken as a liquid and is used for stomach complaints such as heartburn and a feeling of fullness. “Retterspitz® Externally”, as the name suggests, is used externally for various conditions to support physical therapy. In addition to these solutions, the company Retterspitz® sells numerous other cosmetic and medical products, such as laxative drops, a muscle cream, zinc ointment and several other products.
