Research goals
Now that the human genome project has been completed, the researchers are trying to assign the individual genes to their significance for the human body. On the one hand, they are trying to draw conclusions about the development of disease and therapy, and on the other hand, by comparing human DNA with the DNA of other living organisms, there is hope of being able to better illustrate the evolutionary mechanisms.
