Rheumatic Fever: Test and Diagnosis

1st order laboratory parameters – obligatory laboratory tests.

  • Small blood count
  • Blood sedimentation rate (ESR)
  • Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein) or PCT (procalcitonin).
  • Pathogen detection from the infected regions (throat swab).
  • Streptococcal antibodies
    • Antistreptolysin O (ASL)
    • Anti-deoxyribonuclease B (ASNB)
