Structure and properties

Salverine (C₁₉H₂₄N₂O₂, M_r = 312.4 g/mol) is a phenylbenzamide derivative. In drugs, it is present as salverine hydrochloride.

Effects

Salverine has antispasmodic and mild depressant properties. It is a papaverine-type spasmolytic without atropine-like effects.

Indications

For the treatment of smooth muscle spasms.
