Senility: Diagnostic Tests

Obligatory medical device diagnostics.

  • Electrical impedance analysis (measurement of body compartments/body composition) – to determine body fat, extracellular body mass (blood and tissue fluid), body cell mass (muscle and organ mass), and total body water, including body mass index (BMI, body mass index) and waist-to-hip ratio (THV); if applicable, as part of a health check-up.

Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnostics and mandatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Stress ECG
  • Electroencephalogram (EEG; recording of brain waves).
  • Sonography of the carotids (ultrasound of the carotid artery).
  • Colonoscopy (colonoscopy) – as a preventive measure.
  • Uroflowmetry (urine flow measurement) – if obstructive bladder emptying disorder is suspected.
  • Abdominal sonography (ultrasound of the abdominal organs) – for general cancer screening.
  • Osteodensitometry (bone density measurement).
