latin: M. adductor brevis

  • To the musculature overview

The short femoral adductor (Musculus adductor brevis) lies below the pectoralis muscle and the long femoral adductor. Further adductors of the thigh:

  • Comb muscle (M. pectineus)
  • Long femoral adductor (M. adductor longus)
  • Large thigh extractor (M. adductor magnus)
  • Slender muscle (M. gracilis)

Approach, Origin, Innervation

Approach: Bony reinforcing strip of the back of the femur (Linea aspera) Origin: Lower pubic ramus (Ramus inferior ossis pubis) Innervation: N. ObturatoriusThe short femoral adductor (Musculus adductor brevis) is trained in strength training by the following exercise:

  • Adductor machine

The following stretching exercises apply to these muscles: There are two ways to stretch the inner side of the thigh. The athlete stands approximately double the width of the shoulders, with the tips of the feet pointing forward. The body weight is shifted to one side, so that the thigh of the side to be stretched is stretched approximately.

The upper body should be kept upright. The second variation is done while sitting. The soles of the feet touch each other while the knee joints are moved towards the floor. For detailed information please refer to Stretching

Function

The function of the short thigh tightener (Musculus adductor brevis) is adduction (lateral approach to the body) in the hip joint. Information on all forms of movement can be found here in an overview of forms of movement
