Side effects

Dynexan® Mungel is considered to have very few side effects and is well tolerated. Nevertheless, side effects can never be completely ruled out. Dynexan® is primarily associated with hypersensitivity reactions to the active ingredient.

If one reacts hypersensitively to lidocaine or similar substances, one should avoid using Dynexan®. Hypersensitivity reactions can become noticeable by irritation, redness or swelling directly at the site of application. In the worst case, severe allergic reactions or an allergic shock may occur.

In addition, itching may occur. The application can lead to disturbed taste sensation or a strange taste in the mouth. Since lidocaine hydrochloride inhibits sodium channels, which are not only responsible for the pain transmission but also for other signals, sensory disturbances at the place of application can occur.

When is Dynexan® mouth gel used?

The main indications for Dynexan® Mouth Gel include pain in the area of the oral mucosa or lips. Pain in the mouth can be caused by gum inflammation (gingivitis), for example. In this case, Dynexan® Mungel relieves the pain caused by inflammation.

In addition, herpes labialis caused by viruses can be treated with Dynexan® Mungel. The small herpes blisters often form around the lips, but sometimes also inside the mouth and are very painful. They cause pain when eating and drinking hot drinks.

Dynexan® Mouth Gel can also be helpful in this case. The gel is also recommended for pressure points in the mouth area caused by poorly fitting dentures, since the rapid onset of action of Dynexan® also means that the dentures can be put back in place quickly, thus avoiding functional or aesthetic difficulties. Dynexan® is used in teething babies due to its low side effects and is also suitable for the symptomatic treatment of aphthae in the mouth.

Dynexan® mouth gel is recommended for use in teething babies. Children start teething at approximately six months of age. The milk teeth are already present, but only now are they beginning to erupt.

This process is very uncomfortable for the little ones and is associated with pain. The babies cry a lot, do not sleep and it is difficult to calm them down. Treatment with pain-inhibiting Dynexan® Mouth Gel helps to calm the babies. The application should not be done more than four times a day for babies.

You should also make sure that they do not eat or drink directly after the application. Although Dynexan® Mouth Gel is considered safe for babies, some parents prefer not to use it because of the active ingredient and prefer to use products with natural ingredients such as chamomile. Aphthae are small, inflamed lesions of the mucous membrane in the mouth, gums or on the inside of the lips.

They cause pain and burning and make eating and drinking particularly acidic foods quite unpleasant. Causes for an aphthae are usually a weakened immune system, for example after a cold or similar infection. Stress is also discussed as a cause.

Normally the mucous membrane injuries heal by themselves within one to two weeks, but larger aphthae can cause severe pain. Here, therapy with analgesic ointments or creams such as Dynexan® can bring about improvement. To achieve the optimal effect, the mouth gel should be dabbed onto the aphtae as precisely as possible and massaged in if necessary.

Injuries or pain in the tongue are comparatively difficult to treat, as the tongue is constantly in motion and in contact with fluids and food by speaking, eating and drinking. Applied creams and gels are quickly washed away. Dynexan® mouth gel is difficult to apply directly to the tongue because the gel does not adhere to the tongue.

However, it can be especially helpful in cases of aphthae or minor injuries at the base of the tongue, under the tongue, as pain is also quickly relieved here. The use of Dynexan® can cause numbness and tingling of the tongue as a side effect, but these undesirable effects are only temporary and usually disappear completely by themselves.
